It’s Awards Season. Meet our winners!
We are excited to tell you that the winners of the 2018 Best of NeoCon have been announced. Several brands of HNI, our parent company, are amongst the winners in this marquee event.
Now in its 50th year, NeoCon is the most important annual event for the commercial design industry. Held in June in Chicago, exhibitors showcasing their products can also participate in the Best of NeoCon Competition, during which a jury composed of 42 contract interior designers, architects, and corporate, healthcare, and institutional facilities executives select winners across a range of category.
The jury of the 2018 Best of NeoCon Competition distributed a total of 81 awards, including eight Innovation Awards and a Best of Competition Award.
And the winners are..
A chair that rocks
Allsteel’s quirky Rock Chair came in First Prize for education solutions. An alternative to the rocking chair and the beanbag the Rock Chair ‘fidget’ shape helps supports the posture preferred by executives but also accommodates the need for motion seen in education settings. Users can thus remain still, or fidget at will!
A solution that works
Gunlock’s Sileah EH also won big, securing a Silver Award in the casegoods category as the jury recognized how Gunlock’s craftmanship and the exceptional functionality, scalability and sleek appearance of the Silea collection makes it an ideal solution for workplaces ranging from private offices and enclosed team spaces, to open settings.
HBF and HBF Textile’s MOD (Sofas & Lounges), Space (Dividers/Partitions/Screens) and Curious Crowd (Textiles: Upholstery) were recognized as entrants in this year’s completion.
HNI brands also got noticed by the media. The Architects Newspaper selected Park by Norm Architects as representative of the quasi-residential emphasis on comfort and aesthetics trend embraced by contract furniture maker. Combining AllSteel expertise with Danish craftsmanship, the Park collection reflects AllSteel insights that social and collaborative spaces tend to be sacrificed when an organization start growing and new workstations are needed. Comprising soft seating, tables, storage and accessories each element of the portfolio is designed to adapt to evolving demands for collaboration, privacy, wellness and division of space, and can be repositioned or repurposed to accommodate growth.
Congratulation again to the HNI winners and let’s hope that our efforts in creating people-driven workplace solutions continue to be recognized by juries as the way of the future.
